EDP prepared a Vision Document and Environmental Appraisal for Ice House, Ripley in Derbyshire. The scheme provides 450 new homes, a mixed-use gateway to the town, a 2.5 hectares extension to the neighbouring employment area, large areas of quality open space including a full size cricket pitch, community pavilion and other sports facilities, and an extensive network of greenways that connect into the town. The site lies partially within the green belt, and an assessment of the five green belt functions (in line with National Planning Policy Framework policy) was undertaken to demonstrate the sites suitability for development.
