Graphics Consultant
Location: Cardiff

Working out of our Cardiff Office, you will be part of a talented, creative and cohesive in-house Graphics team working closely with our accomplished environmental consultants to produce maps, plans and desk-top published reports for our many clients.

The chosen candidate will be a highly enthusiastic and motivated graphics specialist, accomplished in the use of Adobe Creative Suite and QGIS (or other GIS software). They will also be confident in the production of a wide range of desktop published reports for EDP projects and occasionally for promotional use; contributing to newsletters, leaflets, brochures, stationery, exhibition panels, interpretation boards, etc. Experience of working within a consultancy environment would be desirable.

Principal Ecologist
Location: Cardiff

We have a new opportunity for an experienced, self-motivated and inspirational Principal Ecologist to join our well-established and experienced Ecology Team. The position will be based at our Cardiff Office, with an expectation to support both the Ecology and wider EDP team by generating new opportunities and strengthening Client Care, whilst providing experienced, technical and professional project management across ecology-specific and multi-disciplinary projects across the country.

We are looking for a positive, solution-focussed, and proactive ecologist with a relevant first degree and appropriate post-graduate qualification. Proven consultancy experience and strong project management is a requirement, with a broad range of technical skills and demonstrable experience in EIA and HRA. You will also have extensive experience in the scoping, designing and leading of detailed habitat and species surveys, mitigation design and Statutory Consultee negotiation, hold protected species survey licenses and have experience of mitigation licensing.

The successful candidate will also have a thorough understanding of the planning system and environmental legislation, and be a Full member of CIEEM with an intention of working towards Chartership. You should also be willing to contribute to a supportive work environment, playing a key role in the mentoring, training and line management of junior staff in addition to maintaining quality of output across the team.

In addition to the right qualifications and experience you will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be personable, solution-focussed, innovative and proactive, have attention to detail and diligence, and the ability to work effectively on your own and as part of a team. Senior Ecologist
Location: Cirencester

We have a new opportunity for an experienced, self-motivated and innovative Senior Ecologist to join our well-established and experienced Ecology Team. The position will be based at our Cirencester Office, with an expectation to provide technical skills and support to the Ecology and wider EDP team through involvement in ecology-specific and multi-disciplinary projects across the country.
 
We are looking for a confident, enthusiastic, solution-focussed, and competent field ecologist with a relevant first degree and appropriate post-graduate qualification. Proven consultancy experience typically spanning 4-5 years is essential, including the scoping, designing and leading of detailed habitat and species surveys and mitigation design. You will be a holder of one or more protected species survey licence(s), hold or have some experience of preparing mitigation licences, and have, or be eligible for, full membership to CIEEM.

Demonstrable experience in EcIA reporting and assessment is also sought, with experience in HRA desirable. The ideal candidate will also have good experience of preparing fee proposals and delivering project work on time and to budget for a range of clients, whilst being able to effectively prioritise workloads and work well under pressure. You should also be seeking to build upon your ecological project management, technical skills and client care.

Seasonal Consultant Ecologists
Location: Cirencester/Shrewsbury

Fixed Term (spring and summer months)

We are seeking aspirational, motivated and enthusiastic Fixed Term, Seasonal Consultant Ecologists to assist in all areas of our ecology work for a minimum period of between 5-7 months. Available posts will be based at our Cirencester and Shrewsbury offices, but with project work requiring travel to various sites across the country.

Your primary role will be to assist the wider EDP Ecology Team in undertaking habitat and protected species surveys, providing Clerk of Works support, and assisting with data input, analysis, research and report writing. During this time you will be supervised and supported by a strong team of ecology experts, enabling you to gain valuable training and experience of survey methodologies, mitigation and best practice techniques required by the professional consultancy industry.

You will have a relevant first degree and preferably a post-graduate qualification, with a proficiency in MS Office. In addition, you will be a confident field ecologist with experience beyond that gained in an academic context. The position would ideally suit persons with prior experience in a consultancy environment or similar.  Great crested newt and/or bat survey experience/licence holders would be highly desirable.
