Receptionist/Administrator
Location: Cirencester

There is a key opportunity for the right individual to join our team in Cirencester as a receptionist with additional administrative duties.

This post will offer the successful candidate a great opportunity to develop their role, working closely with the consultant team and Office Manager, providing the ‘front of house’ services to clients and visitors.

The right candidate for this role will ideally have previous experience of general administrative duties within a busy office environment. Archaeology and Heritage Consultant
Location: Shrewsbury

Due to the continuing success and growth of the business, EDP is seeking to recruit another enthusiastic and energetic archaeological/heritage consultant to join the multi-disciplinary team at our office in Shrewsbury.

The successful candidate will be highly professional and self-motivated, and in possession of excellent research skills. They will have a proven ability to write to a high standard and be able to deliver projects independently or as part of a team; completing both on time and on budget. They will possess an ability to communicate effectively with team members.

Twelve months or more in a consultancy environment would be desirable, but is by no means essential; likewise applicants with specialist skills in the fields of historic landscape assessment and/or standing building investigation would be welcomed. Existing membership of the CIfA at Associate level or above would be an advantage, but a full driving licence and a car insured for business use are essential.

Salary will depend on experience, but will exceed CIfA minima.

Senior Landscape Architect
Location: Shrewsbury

We are seeking a talented and motivated Senior Landscape Architect to join our office in Shrewsbury due to a significant increase to the team’s core workload. Other office locations would also be considered, but Shrewsbury is the preferred location. This is an excellent opportunity for you to continue to develop your professional and project management skills by working closely with our existing team. In a growing office this post will also offer the successful candidate a huge diversity of experience encompassing not only landscape, but also aspects of ecology, heritage, masterplanning and arboriculture.

Our ideal candidate will be able to independently work on LVIA inputs, having already worked within a consultancy environment, while further capability in respect of Landscape Strategies, Management Plans, EIA and Project Management would be of great value. 

You are expected to be on the Pathway to Chartership, or already have achieved Chartered status. A high standard of written and verbal communication skills is essential, and you should be solution-focussed, show initiative and flexibility, have attention to detail and diligence, and the ability to work effectively on your own and as part of a team.

Senior Ecologist
Location: Cirencester

We have a new opportunity for an experienced, self-motivated and innovative Senior Ecologist to join our well-established and experienced Ecology Team. The position will be based at our Cirencester Office, with an expectation to provide technical skills and support to the Ecology and wider EDP team through involvement in ecology-specific and multi-disciplinary projects across the country.
 
We are looking for a confident, enthusiastic, solution-focussed, and competent field ecologist with a relevant first degree and appropriate post-graduate qualification. Proven consultancy experience typically spanning 4-5 years is essential, including the scoping, designing and leading of detailed habitat and species surveys and mitigation design. You will be a holder of one or more protected species survey licence(s), hold or have some experience of preparing mitigation licences, and have, or be eligible for, full membership to CIEEM.

Demonstrable experience in EcIA reporting and assessment is also sought, with experience in HRA desirable. The ideal candidate will also have good experience of preparing fee proposals and delivering project work on time and to budget for a range of clients, whilst being able to effectively prioritise workloads and work well under pressure. You should also be seeking to build upon your ecological project management, technical skills and client care. 

In addition to the right qualifications and experience you will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be solution-focussed, show initiative and flexibility, have attention to detail and diligence, and the ability to work effectively on your own and as part of a team. You will also have a full, clean driving licence and access to your own car for business use. Seasonal Consultant Ecologists
Location: Cirencester/Shrewsbury

Fixed Term (spring and summer months)

We are seeking aspirational, motivated and enthusiastic Fixed Term, Seasonal Consultant Ecologists to assist in all areas of our ecology work for a minimum period of between 5-7 months. Available posts will be based at our Cirencester and Shrewsbury offices, but with project work requiring travel to various sites across the country.

Your primary role will be to assist the wider EDP Ecology Team in undertaking habitat and protected species surveys, providing Clerk of Works support, and assisting with data input, analysis, research and report writing. During this time you will be supervised and supported by a strong team of ecology experts, enabling you to gain valuable training and experience of survey methodologies, mitigation and best practice techniques required by the professional consultancy industry.

You will have a relevant first degree and preferably a post-graduate qualification, with a proficiency in MS Office. In addition, you will be a confident field ecologist with experience beyond that gained in an academic context. The position would ideally suit persons with prior experience in a consultancy environment or similar.  Great crested newt and/or bat survey experience/licence holders would be highly desirable.
