08 JUNE 2017
On 31 May Cadw published the long awaited Technical Advice Note 24: The Historic Environment and its first guidance on the assessment of setting effects, Setting of Historic Assets in Wales; two of a broad range of documents which are programmed to come forward in line with the provisions of the Historic Environment (Wales) Act 2016, which received royal assent last year.
Andrew Crutchley, Technical Lead for the Archaeology and Heritage Team at EDP, submitted Reps to Cadw in respect of the consultation draft of its setting guidance, and has since been advised that those comments have been taken on board in the finalised version. We are currently reviewing the two new documents, and we will prepare and distribute an update note on any implications which they may have for our clients’ projects in Wales in the near future.
In the meantime, please contact Andrew Crutchley (email@example.com) if you have any concerns in respect of the new guidance.
